What is the best way to photograph metal objects?
I work in a machine shop, and I need to photograph all of our machined parts for our records. These parts are mostly stainless steel, but I am not sure what the best way to photograph them is. I was thinking of making a small ‘do it yourself’ light box, but I don’t know if that will work well with metal. Does anyone know of any good ways to photograph metal?
Parametric Programming for Computer Numerical Control Machine Tools and Touch Probes: CNC’s Best Kept Secret
Product Description
This book demystifies this simple yet sophisticated programming tool in an easy-to-understand tutorial format, and presents a comprehensive how-to of parametric programming from a user’s point of view. Focusing on three of the most popular versions of parametric programming—Fanuc’s custom macro B, Okuma’s user task 2, and Fadal’s macro—the book describes what parametric programming is, what it can do, and how it does it more efficiently than manual programming. Along with a host of program-simplifying techniques included in the book, you’re treated to descriptions of how to write, set-up and run general subprograms; simulate the addition of control options; and integrate higher level programming capabilities at G-code level.

Which Machine Tool would be best for mass production of soup cans?
If I were to make soup cans in quantities of several million for consumer sale, which of the following machine tools would be used directly in the production of the items?
1.) Lathe
2.) Milling Machine
3.) Drill Press

Ignore, requiring to have labels on the cans, just simply the aluminum can.
What would be best metal roofing cutting/trimming on job tool?
Looking to put metal roof on my house wondering what would be the best metal roof cutting tool and what other tools would be useful for the job too…
For these two machines, what is the best setting to have them at for maximum calorie burn?
i use a tredmill and its kinda like a step up machine that glides up a metal ramp and it works ur butt, back thigh, and legs. i dont know how to explain that.
on the tredmill, it has a 15 number incline that goes pretty high and i used 3.7 speed on it which is like a fast job. i used 15 incline and 3.7 tonight
the step ramp workout machine has resistance and ramp settings that i dont control the ramp, it goes up and down for the weight loss program on it and i use a 10 resistence on it.
and i work on the for 40 mins a piece and burn about 1500 calories between them.
but i want to know if im doing what i can do get maximum burn on them. like do i need to change the settings to get more of a burn out of them or what?
whats the best kind of torch for cutting metal?
im looking for a torch that can cut metal about a inch thick. its for scrap metal so it doesnt have to be a nice cut it just has to seperate the metal. i was looking at hydrogen, plasma, and a few other kinds. what would be the best kind of torch to cut metal. price isnt that important.
Best Lathe machine/training for hardcore fine artist?
I want something beginner under 3,000, ideally 800 or less. Willing to pay up to 5,000 if necessary for a good one. Are there any that work with metal And Wood… and other stuff like stone or plastic? What other gear do I need? What’s the best training? I applied for machine tool technology at my local tech school. Will they tech me the manual stuff or are they focused on CBC software stuff? Are there any hobbysized CNC lathes? Any simple man powered lathes still out there?
*sp CNC
I want to make pseudo-weapons, Geiger-esque sculptures, complex mandalas, useable art like vases. Detail heavy stuff.
How much are and where do I get raw material? Wood isn’t hard to find. What about metal? I’m even thinking about carving discarded scrap metal and plastic!
Would I be better off teaching myself off books? If so what titles and where do I find said books?
